#5 TCNJ TOO MUCH FOR RAMAPO

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team faced off with the #5 ranked Lions of TCNJ today in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up at the Athletic Center.  With the 17-1 win, the Lions improve to 3-0 on the year and get their first win in conference play.  Ramapo falls to 1-1 and 0-1 in the conference.

Erin Waller led the Lions today as she collected four goals and five assists for nine points, while Cortney Natalicchio and Megan Devlin each added three goals to the win.

The Lions came out on fire and quickly got on the scoreboard with a goal from Waller, her second of the season just 54 seconds into the game, before Waller dished a ball to Devlin at 27:08 to go ahead 2-0.  Waller would strike again under a minute later off an assist from Natalicchio to take a 3-0 advantage before Natalicchio scored one of her own to go up 4-0.  The goal was Natalicchio's seventh of the season as she leads the Lions so far this year.  Waller recorded another assist dishing a ball to Emily Kratz to go up 5-0 and forcing a Ramapo time out.  Waller would score an unassisted goal at 20:06 and Devlin would strike again at 19:24 to take a 7-0 lead over the Roadrunners.  The Roadrunners would break the shut out and post a goal at 18:35 when Katie Duca ripped a shot past the TCNJ netminder.  The Lions would tack on two more, one from Natalicchio and one from Elizabeth Morrison to go ahead 9-1, before Natalicchio scored her third of the game with 12:11 to go in the half.  Erin Harvey would get one with 10:52 to play for a ten-goal differential and a running clock. With 2:09 to play, Morrison posted her second goal of the game to take a 12-1 edge, a score that held until the halftime buzzer.

The Lions held a 20-3 advantage in shots and Tara Ward made four saves for the Roadrunners.  Miranda Chrome collected two saves in goal for TCNJ in the first 30 minutes of play.

TCNJ came out in the same fashion as the first half as they scored four quick goals in under ten minutes of the second half.  Caitlin Noonan, Muller, Harvey and Devlin each hit the back of the net to go up 16-1 with 20:13 to go.  With 14:05 left to play, Waller crushed her fourth goal of the game and the Lions wasted the clock holding possession to close out the game, 17-1 in conference play.

In the second half, the Lions again led in shots, 8-0 while Jessica Meyers made two saves in the net for Ramapo.  Christina Fabiano went untested in the half for the Lions.

The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, March 10th when they travel to Farmingdale for a 3:30pm match-up.
