Mahwah, NJ: In a non-conference back and forth women's lacrosse battle, the Ramapo College Roadrunners came out on top with an 11-9 win over the Knights of Mt. St. Mary.  The Roadrunners jump ahead to 5-4 on the year while the Knights fall to .500 at 4-4.

Eight different Roadrunners scored in the two-goal win as Brianna Himpele, Lindsay Hughes, and Alyssa Tachon each collected two goals each.  Victoria Cunningham, Molly Warner, Beth McGraw, Katie Duca, and Hayley Luisa all got in on the scoring action each posting one of their own.  Warner and Lacey Gruendling each collected four ground balls and Hughes led in draw controls with five.  Warner caused five turnovers in the victory.

The Roadrunners got on the scoreboard first despite falling behind 0-3 in shots to start the game when Duca dished the ball to Tachon to go up 1-0. Ramapo went up 2-0 with a goal from Himpele with 20:05 left to play forcing a MSM timeout. Hughes put Ramapo up 3-0 before MSM got on the board with a goal from Jen Gries with 18:59 to go. Kathleen McGinnis would put the Knights within one goal with one of her own with 15:39 on the clock off an assist from Christina Ryan before Katie Gattoni tied up the game three minutes later forcing a Ramapo timeout. Gattoni would fire another shot past Ramapo's Jessica Meyers to take the 4-3 lead and Hughes answered with her 35th goal of the year off a dish from Cunningham to again tie the game, this time at 4-4, but Gattoni tacked on another to ahead 5-4. Himpele tied up the game for the Roadrunners with just over five minutes left in the half, the assist awarded to Hughes, before Warner put Ramapo up 6-5 with just over three minutes on the clock, a score that held until the halftime buzzer.

In the half, MSM out shot Ramapo 12-11 while Meyers made six saves in the first 30 minutes. Amanda Picillo played in goal for the Knights where she collected three saves.

At the start of the second half, Gries scored her second of the game to tie the game at 6-6 but Tachon would capitalize on a free position shot just one minute later to go up again 7-6. Beth McGraw, off an assist from Tachon, would put the Roadrunners ahead, 8-6 with 26:10 on the clock before Cunningham grabbed a goal to take a 9-6 lead. Luisa grabbed a goal for Ramapo and Claire Duffy tapped a ball in off a Ramapo block to come within three goals, 7-10 with 17:22 to play. The Knights made a push in the final minutes to come within one goal but it wasn't enough as the Roadrunners came out with the win.  Gattoni would put the Knights within two goals, 8-10 with just over ten minutes to play before Duffy would put the Knights within one with 4:53 on the clock. Ducca would close the game as she struck again with under a minute to go to put Ramapo on top, 11-9 for the win.
