DEANGELIS, HAAG LEAD RAMAPO OVER FARMINGDALE 4-2

Farmingdale, NY: The #3/4 Ramapo College baseball team improved to 14-1-1 overall with a 4-2 road win over Farmingdale State University today. The Rams drop to 4-10 on the year.
 
Ramapo rookie starting pitcher Kyle Haag (1-0) earned his first win of the season with a 10 strikeout, complete game win. He scattered seven hits while he surrendered two runs, one earned.
 
Junior Rob DeAngelis led off the game with a single up the middle before scoring on an infield error for a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Connor Walsh drove home sophomore Matt Chemis with a ground rule double to center field before sophomore Austin Unglaub recorded a RBI groundout allowing senior Joe Venturino to touch home plate to take a 3-0 lead.
 
Farmingdale got on the board in the second inning with an unearned run before they added a second run in the bottom of the fourth. Ryan Gaffney drove home Brandon Snow with an infield groundout to come within one 2-3. The Roadrunners added an insurance run in the top of the seventh. Senior Ryan Rinsky worked a four-pitch walk and moved to second on sac bunt from Bobby Shannon. DeAngelis then took the second pitch he saw and ripped his second triple of the game driving home Rinsky to take a 4-2 lead. Haag and the Roadrunner defense held the Rams in their final three at-bats for Ramapo's 14th win of the season.
 
DeAngelis led the team at the plate with two triples finishing 3-5 with one run and one RBI in the game. Chemis, Venturino and Walsh all collected one hit apiece.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, April 2nd when they host NJAC rival New Jersey City University in a double-header beginning at 11:30am.
