WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS AT OLD WESTBURY

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team fell to the College at Old Westbury today on the road 10-9 in a non-conference game. The Roadrunners even their overall record at 4-4 overall while the Panthers now stand at 2-4 overall.
 
Ramapo led 4-3 heading into the second half when the Roadrunners scored three straight goals to start the first half. Alyssa Tachon tallied her 16th goal of the season to put the team on the board 1-0 before Lindsay Hughes scored her team leading 31st and 32nd goals within 22 seconds of each other to take a 3-0 lead with 20:31 left to play in the half. Old Westbury scored three straight goals to tie the game with 5:11 on the clock before Beth McGraw took a pass from Hughes with 51 seconds left and hit the back of the net for a 4-3 Ramapo lead.
 
Hughes started the scoring in the second half off a pass from Katie Duca for a 5-3 lead before the Panthers added one more goal before Tachon tallied back-to-back goals for a 7-4 lead. Old Westbury would tie the game with three straight goals of their own 7-7 with 13:15 to go in the game. Victoria Cunningham scored an unassisted goal with 12:13 on the clock before McGraw scored with 11:52 off a pass from Brianna Himpele for a 9-7 lead. Old Westbury would come back to take the game with three straight goals, including the game winning goal with 1:55 left to play. The Roadrunners were able to get one more shot off in the final 1:33 of the game but the Panther's goalie was able to come up with a big save to preserve the win.
 
Hughes and Tachon led the Roadrunners with three goals apiece while McGraw posted two goals and Cunningham added one of her own.  Jessica Meyers tallied eight saves in goal for Ramapo.
 
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Mount Saint Mary College in a non-conference game at 4pm.
