Pomona, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team dropped a tough New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up today to the Ospreys of Stockton University, 66-105 to fall to 14-8 overall and 10-5 in the conference play. The Ospreys improve to 17-5 overall, 12-3 in the NJAC.
The Roadrunners were led by
Frank Nock who collected 16 points shooting 4-12 from the field and 6-7 from the charity stripe.
Cory Soanes and
Jermaine Peart netted 11 and ten points respectively and
Christopher Moseley collected eight points as the team combined for 23-57 (40%). Nock, Moseley,
David Haye and
Josh Ford each pulled down four rebounds as
James Long dished-out a team-high four assists. The Ospreys forced 18 Ramapo turnovers as they posted their 17th win of the season. Jaymere Hadden led the team with 23 points as three other Ospreys posted double-digit points. Armin Cane recorded 21 points and Darius Jerkins and Maurice Hart each added 16 and 15 points respectively. Jerkins led the way with eight rebounds and Jerkins and Cane each dished out four assists. The Ospreys combined for 42 field goals on 71 attempts shooting 59% in the win.
The Ospreys led the entire game working to a 47-38 lead at the halftime buzzer. Hadden posted 11 points in the first half and Jerkins added ten as the team hit 19-34 (56%). Ramapo went 13-28 (46%) in the first half of play behind 14 points from Nock. Soanes and Peart each contributed six points in the half. In the second half, the Ospreys worked to a 40-point spread on two occasions, the first coming with 4:13 to play when Hadden laid in a fast break goal to take a 98-58 lead. With 2:36 on the clock, Malcolm Parrish posted two points of his own on a jump shot to break into 100 to edge Ramapo, 100-60. The Roadrunners out scored the Ospreys by a slight 6-5 in the final minutes falling short, 66-105 in NJAC action. Moseley led Ramapo with six second half points as the team went 10-29 (35%) and Cane led Stockton with 17 points shooting 6-9 from the field including 3-4 from behind the three-point arc. The team went 23-37 (62%).
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, February 10th when they travel to TCNJ for an 8pm tip-off.
