Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team team fell to NJAC foe Rutgers-Camden University today at the Bradley Center, 43-38. The Scarlet Raptors improve to 14-9 overall, 9-8 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 5-19 overall, 3-14 in the conference.

The Roadrunners jumped out to a three-point lead in the first half before
Kelly McNulty extended the lead to five with a basket at 5:42 in the first period. The Scarlet Raptors went on a mini 4-0 run to cut the lead to one 9-8 before Ramapo's
Shelby Ringer sank back-to-back three-pointers to take their biggest lead of the game 15-8 with 2:29 left in the period. Kamari Talley scored a basket for Rutgers Camden with 35 seconds on the clock before
Kellie Lane made the back-end of a two-shot foul to go up 16-10.

The Scarlet Raptors came back to tie the game and take the lead on back-to-back shots from Caroline Santiago 18-16 with 4:27 to go in the second period. Rutgers-Camden extended their lead to five with 22 seconds remaining on a layup from Cara Racobaldo before Lane cut the lead to four with a made free throw, 19-23, heading into the third period.  The Scarlet Raptors extended their lead to ten on a jumper from Talley, 29-19 before Ramapo cut the lead to six when they went on a mini 4-0 run. Santiago once again put Rutgers-Camden up ten with a made jumper with 1:36 left in the third period. The Scarlet Raptors took their biggest lead of the game 40-28 with a made free throw from Santiago with 3:48 left to play in the game.

The Roadrunners chipped away at the lead in the final three minutes of the game. Ramapo went on a 10-2 run to close the gap 38-42 with only six seconds remaining as Rutgers-Camden was able to hold onto the NJAC road win43-38. Â

Rutgers-Camden had three players score in double figures with Talley leading the team with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Santiago tallied 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Michelle Obasi added 12 points and eight rebounds of her own. The team shot 33% (19-57) from the field and 26% (5-19) from the free throw line.

Shelby Ringer led the Roadrunner offense with 11 points while Lane posted a team high 11 rebounds while she added seven points.
Alyson Oostdyk contributed with six points, eight rebounds while
Bintou Berete grabbed ten rebounds and tallied three points. The team shot 31% (14-44) from the field, 19% (4-21) from the three-point line and 46% (6-13) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, February 17th when they host Rutgers-Newark University for a NJAC at 5:30pm. The team will honor it's senior class prior to the start.
