Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team dropped a tough, 57-67 decision tonight to the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up at the Bradley Center. In both their final match-ups of the 2015-2016 season, Ramapo finishes the year at 5-20 overall and 3-15 in conference play while Rutgers Newark improves to 8-17 overall and 4-14 in the conference.
Arianna Williams led the Scarlet Raiders with a team high 27 points shooting 10-22 from the field and 4-5 from behind the three-point arc while Shala Glenn collected 17 points in the win. The team hit 27-60 (45) from the field. Maria Simmons dished out seven assists and added 12 points while Glenn grabbed three steals. Williams led in rebounds with seven. For Ramapo, senior

Shelby Ringer collected 15 as
Kellie Lane added ten points on the night.
Alyson Oostdyk pulled down a team leading 11 rebounds as the team went 19-49 (39%) from the field.
The Roadrunners finished the first half of play on top of the Scarlet Raiders, 31-28 behind nine points from Elliott. Ringer contributed six points, two three-point goals, as the team went 10-21 (48%) from the field. The two teams opened the game trading baskets before a long shot from Williams put Rutgers Newark ahead, 11-7. The Scarlet Raiders would finish the first period with a 13-10 lead over Ramapo. In the second period, Rutgers Newark went ahead 17-10 with a basket from Nicole Skelly with 9:24 on the clock, before a three-point goal from
Alexandra Seedes sparked a 10-2 run to put the Roadrunners on top, 20-19 with 7:01 to go in the half. It was back-and-forth basketball for the remainder of the clock with Ramapo finishing on top, 31-28 with a jump shot from Elliott to end the half. Nikki Sammartino led Rutgers Newark with ten points in the half as the team hit 13-29 (45%) from the field.
At the start of the third period, the Roadrunners held their ground until the 5:21 minute mark when a basket from Williams would put the Scarlet Raiders ahead 39-38. A three-point goal from Skelly would cap off an 11-0 Rutgers Newark run to go up 44-38 with 2:42 to play. Ramapo would come within two points at the buzzer with the back end of a two shot foul from Oostdyk to end the third trailing, 44-46. The Roadrunners finished the period with a 5-0 run to close in on Rutgers Newark. In the final period, the Scarlet Raiders worked to a ten-point advantage at 5:18 after a long shot fell from Williams. Ramapo quickly responded to come within four points after Ringer drained a three to close the gap, 57-61. Down the stretch the Scarlet Raiders out scored Ramapo 6-0 to take home the conference win, 67-57. Elliott and Ringer led Ramapo with nine second half points each and as the Roadrunners went 9-28 (32%) from the field. Williams collected 17 points and Glenn contributed 11 to lead Rutgers Newark in the final half. The team went 14-31 (45%).
