Albany, NY: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team picked up two wins today in the Skyline Conference over Sage College and Purchase College. With the victories the Roadrunners improve to 4-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
In their first match-up of the day with Sage, the Roadrunners posted a 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-23) sweep behind 18 kills from sophomore hitter
Justin Feigeles.
Paul Close collected seven kills in the win as the team went 39-84 with 23 errors hitting .190.
Jordan Elam and Mikhael Erumshalimski chipped in four kills each in the win as Erumshalimski dished out 30 assists. The defense was led by
Spencer Shickora with 12 digs and the team put away five total team blocks. For Sage, Ryan Guyton led the way with ten kills as the team hit a combined .143 with 24 kills and 14 errors on 70 attempts. Casey Fitzpatrick led with 19 assists and Bailey Cecchi led the team's defense with seven digs.
In match two, Ramapo went 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-13) over Purchase. The team hit .369 in the win with 43 total kills on 84 attempts with 12 errors. Feigeles put away 18 kills and Close added 11 while Elam picked up seven kills of his own. Erumshalimski contributed on 36 points and Close led the defense with eight digs. The team combined for seven team blocks. Purchase was led by Kevin Carges with ten kills and the team hit an even .100 in the loss with 23 kills on 80 attempts and 15 errors. Andrew Schwab dished out ten assists and Carges picked up a team leading nine digs.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, February 17th when they travel to #8 Rutgers Newark for a 7pm match-up.
