#19 KEAN TOPS RAMAPO IN NJAC ACTION

Mahwah, NJ:  The Kean University field hockey team remained undefeated with a 4-0 shutout at Ramapo College today. The Cougars who are ranked #19 in the latest NFHCA Top 25 poll improve to 11-0 overall and 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Roadrunners fall to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
 
The Cougars got on the board in the 10th minute (9:08) with a goal from Jenna Patrone, her third goal of the season to take a 1-0 lead. The LaMaina sisters then scored back-to-back goals in the game to make it a 3-0 lead. Shauna LaMaina posted her 12th goal of the season in the 24th minute (23:47) to go into halftime up 2-0. Krista LaMaina got the Cougars on the board in the second half with a goal in the 54th minute (53:55) off an assist from Patrone. Patrone wrapped up the scoring for Kean with a goal in the final seconds of the game (69:53) as Teresa Carr earned the assist to extend the Cougar lead 4-0.
 
The Cougars outshot Ramapo 26-4 and posted a 14-4 advantage in penalty corners. Ramapo goalie Emily Wisneski tallied 14 saves in the game while Cougar goalie Erin Smith posted two of her own.
 
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to #17 Rowan University on October 7th at 6:30pm.
