CAMPBELL SCORES IN TOUGH LOSS TO #10 ROWAN

Glassboro, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team dropped a tough 3-1 decision tonight to the #10 ranked Profs of Rowan University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up on the road.  Ryan Campbell would score for the Roadrunners as they fall to 10-4-2 overall and 2-4-2 in the conference.  Rowan improves to 14-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in conference play.

The Roadrunners scored first in the game with a quick free kick play at 18:07 as Campbell scored his 12th goal of the season to give Ramapo a 1-0 lead.  Rowan would tie the game at 32 minutes flat off a throw in as Jake Conners ripped a ball from 30-yards out past the diving Ramapo goaltender to tie the game.  The score held until the halftime buzzer with Rowan leading in shots, 9-6.  Sprague made one saves in the half and Rowan's Kyle Dennis blocked two shots of his own.

In the second half with 18:20 to play, Ryan Sprague punched the ball out but a follow up from Shane Doherty resulted in a goal for the Profs giving Rowan a 2-1 lead and the eventual game-winning goal.  Rowan would go up 3-1 with under eight minutes to play when Nick Schlageter, off an assist from Conners, added insurance taking the game in the New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up.

Ramapo had good opportunities in the second half collecting three on goal shots but Rowan would again out shoot Ramapo, 7-3.  Sprague made one more save and Dennis added three.
