Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey field hockey team posted a 7-0 win over Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center to remain undefeated at 4-0 in the NJAC while they improve to 10-3 overall. The Roadrunners now stand at 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The Lions had five different players score in the game while Cayla Andrews tallied her 8th goal of the season off a pass from Kayla Mosser to score the eventual game-winner. The goal was scored in the 28th minute (27:21) to put the Lions in the lead 1-0. Lexi Smith posted her 14th goal of the season, unassisted to take a 2-0 lead in the 32nd minute (31:48) while Danielle Andreula posted the team's third goal of the first half with 21 seconds remaining on the clock for a 3-0 lead. TCNJ posted 21 shots in the first half and four penalty corners.
TCNJ scored four more goals in the second half. Smith (37:05) hit the back of the net off a pass from Jordan Paton before Elizabeth Morrison teamed up with Sidney Padilla (43:18) to take a 5-0 lead. Alexa Magnotta scored her first goal of the season, unassisted in the 46th minute (45:21) before Morrison scored her second goal of the game off a pass from Smith in the 60th minute (59:24) to extend their lead 7-0.
The Lions recorded 40 shots in the game including 28 on-goal while they collected 16 penalty corners. Ramapo tallied two corners in the game while goalie
Emily Wisneski recorded a team high 13 saves.
Emily Kramer played the final 21:17 of the game and recorded seven saves of her own.
The Roadrunners return to action on October 19th when they travel to William Paterson University for a NJAC conference game beginning at 7pm.
