Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

KNOBLOCK, HARVELL LEAD RAMAPO OVER RUTGERS-NEWARK 1-0

Newark, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's soccer team blanked NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark University tonight 1-0. The Roadrunners improve to 2-8-1 overall, 1-5 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raiders now stand at 1-11-1 overall, 0-6 in the conference.

Michaela Knoblock scored the eventual game-winner in the 34th minute (33:26) to take a 1-0 lead. In the first half Ramapo posted a 6-4 advantage in shots including 3-0 on goal.

During the second half (50:15), the Scarlet Raiders' Ine Collins was able to get a head onto the ball and direct it towards the Roadrunner net but Sydney Kauffman was there to make a big defensive save on the line for Ramapo. The Roadrunners had a few more opportunities to score in the second half including hitting the crossbar in the 70th (69:51) minute of action off a shot from Nani Vizcaino.

Knoblock's goal in the first half held as Ramapo posted their second shutout of the season. Elizabeth Harvell tallied four saves in the game for Ramapo while Diana Carvalho posted four of her own for the Scarlet Raiders. The Roadrunners held a 14-12 advantage in shots in the game while each team posted five on goal.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, October 15th when they travel to New Jersey City University for a NJAC conference match-up starting at 1pm.
