ROADRUNNERS DROP TWO ON THE ROAD

Poughkeepsie, NY:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped two tough matches tonight to #1 ranked Springfield, 0-3 (16-25, 22-25, 14-25) and Vassar College, 2-3 (16-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-23, 11-15).  With the two losses the Roadrunners fall to 0-4 on the season.

In match one against Springfield, sophomore Justin Feigeles led the team collecting 11 kills while Nick Amos and Paul Close chipped in six and five kills respectively.  Ramapo hit .103 in the match with a total 29 kills on 87 attempts and 20 errors.  Mikhael Erushalimski dished out 26 assists and Connor Brandow picked up ten digs on defense.  Springfield hit .303 as a team with 34 kills on 76 attempts and 11 errors.  Luis Vega led the way with ten kills and Luis Garcia Rubio assisted on a team leading 17 points.  Eli Irizarrv picked up ten digs in the win.

In a thrilling five set loss to Vassar College, the Roadrunners fought from two sets down to tie the match, 2-2 behind 19 kills from Feigeles.  Close added 13 and Patrick Wixted collected 11, but it wasn't enough as Vassar took the final set for the 3-2 win.  The Roadrunners hit 52-120 with 25 errors hitting .225 in the loss.  Erushalimski dished out 46 assists and Feigeles and Close picked up eight digs each.  For Vassar, the team hit a combined .395 with 59 kills on 114 attempts with 14 errors.  Matthew Knigge picked up 13 kills and Reno Kriz added 12 while George Diehl and Christian Lizana both added ten kills in the win.  Zechariah Lee collected 47 assists and Trey Cimorelli picked up 12 digs.

The Roadrunners return to action when they face off with Purchase and Bard at 10am and 2pm respectively at the Bradley Center on Saturday, February 6th.
