Thomas Bonacum led the Ramapo College men's basketball team over NJAC rival Kean University 89-54 with his second double double this week. The Roadrunners improve to 12-7 overall, 8-4 in the NJAC while the Cougars drop to 2-15 overall, 2-9 in the conference.
Bonacum led the Roadrunners with 21 points shooting 9-15 from the floor, including 2-3 from the three-point line. He also grabbed a team high 14 rebounds while he collected three steals, two assists and one block.
Josh Ford tallied 12 points while
Frank Nock and
Christopher Moseley each added 11 points apiece.
James Long set a new career-high with 12 assists while he recorded seven points. Ramapo shot 63% (35-55) from the floor in the game and 72% (16-22) from the free throw line. The Roadrunner defense forced 30 Kean turnovers that resulted in 28 points for Ramapo.
The Roadrunners built a 39-26 lead heading into halftime before they outscored the Cougars 50-28 in the second half. Ramapo out rebounded the Cougars 38-13 in the game. Kean was led by Jerry Crismond and Jodrell Thompson who each tallied 14 points. The team shot 37% (18-48) from the field, 33% (8-24) from the three-point line and 71% (10-14) from the free throw line.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, January 30th when they travel to Montclair State University for a NJAC game at 1pm.
