Mahwah, NJ: The William Paterson University women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College 70-48 tonight at the Bradley Center. The Pioneers improve to 10-7 overall, 6-5 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners fall to 4-13 overall, 2-7 in the conference.

WPU saw three starters score in double figures in the game as they were led by Jackie Rodriguez who tallied 16 points and five assists. Alex Milne added a double-double, 12 points and ten rebounds. Brittany Harden scored ten points while she collected three assists, four rebounds and two steals. WPU shot 45% (26-57) from the field and 70% (12-17) from the free throw line in the game.

Ramapo was led by
Kellie Lane who tallied ten points with eight rebounds while
Alyson Oostdyk tallied eight points and 12 rebounds. Â
Alexandra Seedes tallied nine points, three assists and two steals and
Doris Ilic tallied eight points of her own, including two three-pointers. Ramapo shot 33% (19-56) from the field and 38% (7-18) from the free throw line in the game.

Ramapo led by one point 14-13 at the end of the first quarter. Ramapo took the lead 12-11 on a pair of free throws from
Doris Ilic with 1:35 left in the first quarter. WPU answered with a made basket before Ramapo's
Bridgette Buckalew sank both free throws with 27 seconds on the clock to take a one-point lead into the second quarter. Ramapo led by three 16-13 with 8:57 on the clock in the second quarter before WPU went on a 8-2 run to take a21-18 lead with 3:19 on the clock. Following a made basket by
Bintou Berete that allowed Ramapo to come within one, the Pioneers went on 7-0 run to take a 28-20 lead.
Grace Elliott shrunk the WPU lead to five with an and-one play before the Pioneers finished the quarter with back-to-back three-pointers to extend their lead 34-23. WPU led the final two quarters of the game with their biggest lead coming in the fourth 70-48 on a pair of made free throws. WPU forced 14 Ramapo turnovers that the Pioneers converted into 13 points. The Roadrunners forced seven WPU turnovers that converted into eight points for Ramapo. The Roadrunners out rebounded WPU 40-36 in the game.Â

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday when they host NJAC rival Rowan University at 1pm.
