Wilkes-Barre, PA: The King's College field hockey team defeated Ramapo College this afternoon, 4-1, at McCarthy Stadium. King's now stands at 8-3 overall while the Roadrunners fall to 1-7 overall.
Kelsey Gabriele knocked in her second goal of the season just six minutes into the game to put King's on the board, 1-0. Alyssa Monaghan scored on a penalty stroke in the 14th minute (13:34), her sixth goal of the season and the eventual game-winning goal to put King's up 2-0.
In the second half, Caitlin Wood tallied her eighth goal of the season (52:05), extending their lead 3-0 before Madysen Jones then put in King's fourth goal (64:37) of the game, her 11th of the season. The Roadrunners got on the board when
Stephanie Gallo scored in the 67th minute (66:23), her second goal of the season.
King's outshot Ramapo 21-1 in the game while they held a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Emily Wisneski started in goal for the Roadrunners and played the entire first half while collecting four saves.
Emily Kramer started the second half and tallied six saves for Ramapo.
Ramapo will return to action against Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham at home on September 29th at the Athletic Center Turf Field at 4pm.
