Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University, 3-1 (25-7, 23-25, 25-10, 25-20). Ramapo improves to 7-3 overall, 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Pioneers fall to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Larysa Iwaskiw led the Roadrunners with 23 kills on 57 attempts with six errors and she hit .298 in the match. She also posted two aces and led the team with 21 digs.
Cathryn Smart and
Emily Guzman added nine kills while Smart added two aces, three digs and two total blocks.
Amanda Rose posted seven kills on 11 attempts with only one error to hit .545 in the match.
Sarah Mulligan posted nine digs; one assist and one ace while
Natalia Saavedra recorded seven digs.
Emily Harris posted 11 digs while
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 43 assists in the match along with two kills and six digs.
For WPU, Nicole Spicer led the Pioneers with 14 kills, one ace, two blocks and one assist. Erin Roach added 13 kills and 12 digs while Issel Garcia tallied seven kills. Nicole Polak led the team with four total blocks while Kendal Caruso dished out a team high 34 assists. Julianna Ginefra led the team on defense with 19 digs.
Ramapo returns to action this weekend when they travel to the Skimore College for the Skidmore Classic. The Roadrunners will take on host on Friday night at 5pm before going up against Sage College on Saturday at 11am and Middlebury College at 1pm.
