Wayne, NJ: The Lady Roadrunner tennis team earned an 8-1 victory tonight over the Pioneers of William Paterson in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up on the road. With the win Ramapo jumps ahead to 5-1 on the year, 2-1 in the conference. William Paterson falls to 1-5 and 1-3 in conference play.
The Roadrunners took all but one singles match-ups and swept doubles play to earn the 8-1 conference win.
Tamila Kadyer-Akhunova posted a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at second singles and
Vasundhra Gandotra posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at third singles to jump ahead in the match 2-1 after falling short in the first singles pairing.
Katrina Biss,
Sabrina Koropchak and
Emily Biunno wrapped up singles action with wins of their own taking the match, 5-1 before heading into doubles play.
In doubles action,
Carly Agrifolio and Gandotra led the Roadrunners in the first spot downing the Pioneer pair, 8-4.
Ramapo returns to action this weekend when they travel to the ITA Northeast Regionals (hosted by William Smith College).
