Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL BLANKS NJCU, 3-0

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team won their first NJAC match-up of the season, 3-0 (25-7, 25-10, 25-12), over visiting New Jersey City University tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners improve to 6-3 overall, 1-0 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights fall to 5-4 overall, 0-2 in the conference.
 
Sophomore Larysa Iwaskiw led Ramapo hitting .800 in the match with 12 kills on 15 attempts and no errors while also recording six digs.  Junior Emily Guzman recorded nine kills; three digs and one block while rookie Kelly Nichirco added seven kills on 11 attempts to hit .636 in the match. Junior Nicole Herrmann dished out a team high 28 assists while senior Katilin Mac Iver tallied seven of her own in one set played. Senior Emily Harris, rookie Kristen Behrens and sophomore Sarah Mulligan each posted five digs apiece in the match. Herrmann and sophomore Natalia Saavedra each recorded two aces to lead the team. Ramapo hit .422 in the match with 43 kills on 83 attempts and only eight errors.
 
For NJCU, Elyssa Magee led the team with four kills while Naiomi Cintron and Georgina Rayo each collected two kills apiece. Rachel McIntyre dished out a team high nine assists while Valerie Ballestas led the team with seven digs. Magee and Rayo also led the team with two blocks. The Gothic Knights tallied 12 total kills in the match.
 
Ramapo returns to action when they travel to NJAC rival William Paterson University on Thursday, September 24th for a 7pm match.
