Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team hosted the final day of the 2015 Roadrunner Invitational today where they collected one win and one loss to stand at 5-3 overall on the year. Ithaca wrapped up the weekend standing at 12-1 overall while Potsdam dropped to 4-7. Scranton went 0-2 on the day and finishes the weekend at 12-5. Ramapo went 1-1 on the day and now stands at 5-3 overall.
On court 1, Ithaca blanked Ramapo in three sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-21). Katie Evans led the team with eight kills while Joelle Goldstein and Amanda Cerruti added five of their own. Kayla Gromen dished out 29 assists while Hailey Adler recorded 11 digs to lead the team on defense. Ramapo was led by
Larysa Iwaskiw who hit .364 in the match with 16 kills and nine digs.
Judy Errichetti added eight kills while
Nicole Herrmann dished out 17 assists.
In the second match of the day on court one, New Paltz shutout Scranton 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-23). New Paltz was led by Becca Borquist with 18 kills as she hit .385 in the match while Morgan Roessler added nine kills of her own. Maddie Zwickl dished out 32 assists and Rachel Peirson added 12 digs. Scranton was led by Kristin Kirwan who tallied 13 kills while Brittany Cafiero dished out 28 assists while Danielle Cafiero recorded 11 digs.
Ramapo wrapped up the day on court one with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-16) win over Scranton. The Roadrunners were once again led by Iwaskiw who hit .688 in the match with a match high 24 kills, three aces and nine digs.
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out 30 assists while she added nine digs. Scranton was led by Morgan Rentzheimer who tallied ten kills of her own while Stephanie Klug added seven kills of her own. D. Cafiero tallied 13 digs on defense while B. Cafiero dished out a team high 28 assists.
On court 2, the Golden Eagles of St. Joe's-LI prevailed over the Bears of SUNY Potsdam in a five-set thriller, 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-9). Kiersten Kissinger led the Golden Eagles with 21 kills and Heather Ferchland added 19 as the team went 61-160 with 25 errors hitting .225. Courtney Wickline dished out 53 assists and Jenna Beekman picked up a team leading 31 digs. Rachel Topf led the Bears with 17 kills and Stephanie Maddox added nine as the Bears hit .-78 with 39 kills on 167 attempts with 26 errors. Brianna Rodda dished out 35 assists and Maddie Paquin led with 23 digs.
Ithaca College wrapped up their weekend with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-18) blanking over SUNY Potsdam. Ithaca was led by Cerruti and Evans who each posted nine kills, while Gromen assisted on 32 points. Dylan Gawinski-Stern picked up 18 digs as the team hit .288 with 43 kills on 104 attempts with 13 errors. Potsdam went 33-107 as a team with 17 errors hitting .105 with Maddox and Topf leading the way with ten kills each. Rodda contributed on 27 points and Paquin again led the team's defense with 16 digs.
New Paltz earned a 3-0 (25-5, 26-24, 25-23) to finish the weekend 8-6 overall. St. Joe's now stands at 4-7. Borquist and Katy Braddon each led the Hawks with ten kills each while the team hit 46-95 with 11 errors hitting .368 in the win. Melanie Aquino and Zwickl shared the setting duties collecting 21 and 14 respectively. The team's defense was led by Rachel Pierson with 17 digs. St. Joe's hit .179 with a combined 29 kills on 95 attempts and 12 errors. Heather Ferchland led the offense game with ten kills and Courtney Wickline assisted on 24 points. The defense was led by Jenna Beekman with 15 digs.
The Roadrunners return to action on September 22nd when they host NJAC rival New Jersey City University at 7pm.
