Mahwah, NJ – Ramapo College freshman midfielder
Michaela Knoblock snapped Stockton University's six-match scoreless streak with a game-tying second-half tally to lift the Roadrunners to 1-1 draw in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for each squad.
Knoblock set a hard shot off of Osprey freshman goalkeeper Nicole Pallante on a breakaway in the 68th minute before gathering the rebound and firing the leveling goal into an empty net to snap Stockton's string of shutout minutes just nine ticks short of 636.
After a hard-fought scoreless first period, Stockton freshman midfielder Abigayle Musto headed in the game's opening goal in the 53rd minute on a cross from the left side from junior midfielder Adrianna Boucher.
Ramapo sophomore goalkeeper
Jessica Cusick matched Pallante with five saves as the team battled on even terms throughout the 110 minutes. Ramapo led by the slimmest of margins in shots, 11-10, with each squad putting six shots on goal. The Roadrunners forged a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Stockton (6-1-1), failed to win for the first time since a season-opening loss to Salisbury University on September 1.
Ramapo (5-0-1) steps outside of NJAC play on Wednesday, hosting New York University at 4 p.m. Ramapo's start is the best start since the 2000 season.
