Mahwah, NJ: Vassar College defeated the Lady Roadrunners today, 2-0 in a non-conference field hockey match-up at the Athletic Center. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 1-5 overall as Vassar improves to 6-1.
Vassar got on the board at 29:24 with a goal from Lauren Shumate off a cross from Megan Caveny, before Hayley Beach dished a ball to Lauren Wiebe just about five minutes later who gave her team a 2-0 advantage. The score would remain until the final buzzer giving Vassar the two goal win.
Paige Amico earned the shut out in the cage as she went untested in the full game.
Emily Wisneski made ten saves for the Roadrunners letting up both goals. Vassar recorded 16 shots and held the Roadrunners
shotless in the game.
Ramapo returns to action on September 23rd when they travel to Union College for a 6pm match-up.
