Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team improved to 3-0 overall today as they defeated the Cougars of Kean University, 9-0 at the Athletic Center. With the loss the Cougars fall to 3-2.
In singles action,
Carly Agrifolio defeated Nayla Hinton at first singles 6-0, 6-0, before
Tamila Kadyer-Akhunova posted a blanking of her own at second singles over Christy Verdi of Kean. The Roadrunners closed out singles action with four more wins heading into double play with a 6-0 lead.
Agrifolio teamed up with
Sabrina Koropchak at first doubles to down the Kean pair, 8-0 and
Sara Luby and
Vasundhra Gandotra blanked Ayana Bell and Shruti Nadkarni, 8-0 at second doubles. Kadyer-Akhunova and
Emily Biunno wrapped up the match with an 8-0 win of their own at the final doubles spot.
Ramapo returns to action when they face off with NJAC rival, The College of New Jersey on Saturday, September 18th at 4:30pm in Ewing.
