WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS JUST SHORT TO WCONN

Danbury, CT:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team dropped a tough 16-22 decision tonight to the Colonials of Western Connecticut in a non-conference match-up on the road.  With the loss the Lady Roadrunners fall to 2-5 overall while Western Connecticut improves to 7-4.

The Colonials were led by Destinee Carey and Lindsey Eanniello who each scored six goals and senior Kelsey Heaton who added five goals of her own while leading all players with six assists.

Ramapo's Lindsay Hughes and Alyssa Tachon who netted six and five goals respectively, led Ramapo in the tough loss.

Ramapo got on the scoreboard first when Beth McGraw scored off a feed from Hughes just 1:17 into the contest, but after back-to-back goals from Eanniello and Heaton, Western Connecticut would remain on top the rest of the way.

The Colonials led 11-8 at the break, despite the teams collecting an even 19-19 shots.

In the second half, the Colonials kept on top of the Roadrunners posting a 21-12 shot advantage.  Nicole Petruzzi made ten saves for Western Connecticut while Monica Bubello turned away 16 of 40 shots she faced for Ramapo.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday at home, when they host Rutgers Camden at 1pm at the Athletic Center.
