Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

RAMAPO GETS PAST RUTGERS-CAMDEN, 14-13

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team defeated Rutgers-Camden University this afternoon, 14-13. The Roadrunners improve to 3-5 overall, 1-1 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 1-9 overall, 0-3 in the conference.
 
The Roadrunners tied the game last in the first half, 5-5, heading into halftime. Alyssa Tachon (1:08) and Beth McGraw (0:03) scored back-to-back goals to tie the game for the Roadrunners.  Tachona and McGraw each tallied two goals in the first half while Lindsay Hughes added one goal.
 
Ramapo took control in the second half scoring the first five goals, taking a 10-5 lead. Alison Gacsi got the Roadrunners going in the second half before Hughes scored two back-to-back. Gacsi added a goal off an assist from McGraw before Hughes scored her 33rd goal of the season unassisted. Alexandra Tray scored on a free position shot with just under 10:30 on the clock to put Ramapo in the lead with the eventual game winning goal, 14-7. The Scarlet Raptors then came back to score six unanswered goals to come within one, their final goal coming with 31 seconds on the clock by Cecilia Gross.
 
The Ramapo defense was able to hold the lead in the final seconds of the game for the one goal victory.
 
For the Roadrunners, Hughes collected five goals while McGraw added three in the game. Tachon recorded two goals and two assists while Gacsi also posted two goals. Tray and Gabriella Razzano each added one goal apiece. Rampao held a 37-26 lead in shots and a 16-11 advantage in draw controls in the game.
 
For the Scarlet Raptors, Natalie DiCarlo and Gross each collected four goals apiece while Krystal Valianti added three goals and Holly Cusick and Breanna Heifet added one each.
 
Monica Bubello earned the win with three saves for the Roadrunners. Jessica Meyers came in the second half and collected four saves.
 
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Old Westbury in a non-conference game at 1pm.
