Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University 6-4 on the road at Jeff Albies Field. The Roadrunners improve to 22-11 overall, 10-5 in the NJAC while the Pioneers drop to 19-12 overall, 5-10 in the conference.

Ramapo scored three runs in the top of the first inning.
Joe Venturino knocked home
Rob DeAngelis for the game's first run, DeAngelis reached base on an infield error to lead off the inning. Venturino then stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher.
Chris Werr ripped a double to plate Venturino before
Rafael Dela Cruz later plated Werr with a sac fly to left centerfield for a 3-0 lead.

WPU plated one run in the bottom half of the first before Ramapo added three more run in the top of the third inning. Werr,
Scott Peschiani and
Connor Walsh each singled to load the bases. Following one out,
Ryan Rinsky laced a single through the right side of the infield plating one run while
Brandon Berger drove in Peschiani with a fielder's choice. Walsh then scored the third run in the inning for Ramapo on a wild pitch to take a 6-1 lead.

The Pioneers added one run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to come within two, 4-6, before Ramapo starting pitcher
Walker Larson kept WPU off the board in their final three at-bats. Larson improved to 7-1 overall with three strikeouts and no walks in the complete game win. He surrendered 11 hits and four runs.

Ramapo pounded out 13 hits in the game while Werr finished 3-3 with two doubles and two runs scored and one RBI while Peschiani and Walsh finished 2-4 with one run scored. Rinsky also collected two hits and one RBI in the game.

The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow afternoon as they host William Paterson University at 3:30pm.
