Mahwah, NJ: The Profs of Rowan University proved to be too much for the Ramapo College women's lacrosse team today as they posted a 24-7 victory over the Lady Roadrunners at the Athletic Center in Mahwah. With the win Rowan jumps ahead to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while Ramapo falls to 5-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
The Profs held a 41-14 advantage in shots on the day with Becca Wood and Jamie Blondina leading the way with seven and six goals respectively. Erin Horner and Megan Welch spilt the goal tending duties combining for four saves.
Ramapo got on the board first with a quick goal from junior
Lindsay Hughes with 29:22 on the clock until the two teams traded goals to come to a 2-2 tied with 25:43 left to play. Wood would spark a 4-0 run for the Profs as they never looked back jumping ahead 15-6 at the halftime buzzer, and 24-7 at the conclusion of the game.
Hughes led Ramapo in goals scoring five of the seven.
Tara Ward got the loss in goal making four saves.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, April 22nd when they host Kean University at 4pm.
