Sewanee, TN: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team fell to 1-2 overall today as they dropped a tough, 12-19 decision to Sewanee College. Sewanee remains undefeated at 7-0 with the seven-goal non-conference victory.
Junior
Lindsay Hughes led the Roadrunners today with seven goals and ten draw controls as
Monica Bubello and
Tara Ward split the goalkeeping duties recording three and 12 saves respectively.
Hughes got the Roadrunners on the board first in the game as she scored an unassisted goal at 27:18. Sewanee tied up the score before Hughes scored back-to-back goals to put Ramapo ahead, 3-1 with 24:36 left to play in the half. Sewanee would score four straight goals to go ahead, 5-3 before Hughes would again score for Ramapo to close the gap, 4-5. Sewanee would out score the Roadrunners, 5-3 in the remainder of the half to take a 10-7 advantage heading into the locker room. Sewanee out shot Ramapo 27-15 in the half.
The second half was controlled by Sewanee as they out scored the Roadrunners once again, 21-12. Sewanee hit the back of the net on nine occasions while the Roadrunners scored just five times in the remainder of the game to fall short 12-19.

The Roadrunners return to action when they return to New Jersey on Friday, March 27th for a 4:00pm match-up with Manhattanville.
