Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team improved to 7-2 overall and 2-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference with a 149-101 road win over William Paterson University. The Pioneers drop to 11-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The 200-yard medley relay team took home a first place finish in 1:41.70. The team was made up of
Andrew Ramos,
RJ Carillo,
Evan Graziano and Philip Sokoloff.
Chaz Cella won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:32.00) while
Peter Kellner won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.07. Ramapo took the top three places in the 100-yard breaststroke as Carillo took home first place (1:02.63),
Kevin Landmesser placed second (1:07.33) and
Mike Teddick finished in third place (1:09.76).
Brian Henningsen won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:07.74 while Ramos (22.88) and
Charlie May (22.99) went 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle. May also took home first place in the 100-yard freestyle (51.52) while Sokoloff placed second in 51.88. Carillo and Landmesser went 1-2 in the 200-yard breaststroke with times of 2:19.29 and 2:28.49 respectively. Cella captured another first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:12.41 while Graziano (55.30) out touched
Jose Alferez (56.05) in the 100-yard butterfly for first place.Â
The Roadrunners return to action on February 20th when they travel to the Metropolitan Conference Championships. The three day meet is hosted by Rutgers University. Last season the men's team finished in 6th place with 546 points, their highest point total under head coach
Gary Orr.
