Camden, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team fell to NJAC rival Rutgers-Camden University today on the road, 72-80. The Roadrunners now stand at 13-10 overall, 7-10 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raptors improve to 13-11 overall and 7-10 in the conference.
The Roadrunners had four players score in double-figures in the game as
Frank Nock led the team in scoring with 18 points.
Thomas Bonacum posted a double-double, his eighth of the season, with 13 points and ten rebounds.
Jermaine Peart and
Ve'Shawn Polite each added 11 points apiece while
Christopher Moseley contributed with nine points and four rebounds. The team shot 49% (26-53) from the field, 22% (2-9) from the field and 72% (18-25) from the foule line. Ramapo held a 44-28 advantage in rebounds while they forced nine Rutgers-Camden turnovers leading to nine points for the Roadrunners.
Four players scored in double-figures for the Scarlet Raptors. Wyatt Polk led all scorers with 25 points including three shots from behind the three-point line. He also led the team with seven rebounds. Julian Martin posted 13 points while Teon Russell and Alex Smart each scored ten points and grabbed four rebounds. The team shot 45% (29-65) from the field, 28% (7-25) from beyond the three-point line and 71% (15-21) from the foul line. The team forced 21 Ramapo turnovers leading to 32 points for the Scarlet Raptors.
Ramapo returns to action when they travel to Rutgers-Newark University on Wednesday, February 18th at 8pm.
