MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO RUTGERS-NEWARK

Newark, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team fell to NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark University tonight, 68-84, at the Golden Dome. The Roadrunners wrap up the 2014-2015 season with a 13-12 overall record, 7-11 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raiders improves to 17-8 overall, 11-7 in the conference.
 
Ramapo scored the first point of the game, a foul shot from Christopher Moseley, before Rutgers-Newark scored a three-pointer to take a 3-1 lead in the first half from Chris Foreman and never looked back for a 16-point victory.
 
Jermaine Peart led the Roadrunners with 13 points while Jermaine Dunkins added 12 points, including three three-pointers and three assists. Thomas Bonacum led the team on the boards with ten rebounds while he collected eight points and four assists. Moseley finished the game with nine points, three rebounds, three blocks and two steals while James Long added eight points.
 
The Roadrunners shot 37% (25-67) from the field, 40% (6-15) from beyond the three-point line and 50% (12-24). Ramapo grabbed 35 rebounds and caused 12 Scarlet Raider turnovers resulting in 13 points.
 
For Rutgers-Newark, four players scored in double figures. Christian Garcia, Chris Foreman and Darrian Collins all scored 14 points apiece while Garcia posted a double-double with 12 rebounds. Jordan McDanile added 11 points and five blocks and Doze Ikwuegbu collected nine points of his own. The Scarlet Raiders shot 44% (28-64) from the field, 43% (10-23) from beyond the three-point line and 72% (18-25) from the foul line. The team grabbed 49 rebounds and only caused eight Ramapo turnovers, resulting in 11 points for the team.
