San Juan, Puerto Rico: The Ramapo College women's basketball team fell to Gustavus Adolphus College, 29-47 today in their opening game of their 2015 Puerto Rico trip. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 3-8 overall and Gustavus Adolphus improves to 8-2.
Gustavus Adolphus led Ramapo the entire way and held the Roadrunners to just eight field goals hitting 8-41 (20%) on the day.
Alyson Oostdyk and
Shelby Ringer each collected a team high five points and Oostdyk pulled down five rebounds while
Alexandra Seedes grabbed three steals.
Grace Elliott posted three blocks in the loss. The Roadrunners tallied 20 turnovers and forced 20 turnovers on the day.
Gustavus never trailed and jumped out to a ten-point, 13-3 lead after nine minutes of action. Mikayla Miller collected a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Justine Lee netted a team leading 12 points in the win. The Gusties netted 28 points from their bench and 15 off turnovers, their biggest lead of 18 coming on four occasions in the third and fourth period.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, December 30th when they face off with #21 University of Rochester at 1pm.
