MEN'S BASKETBALL DOWNS MEDGAR EVERS 93-84

Brooklyn, NY:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated non-conference rival Medgar Evers College 93-84 last night. The Roadrunners improve to 4-2 overall while the Cougars drop to 2-4 on the year.
 
The Roadrunners saw four of their starters score in double figures en route to a nine-point victory. Thomas Bonacum led the team with 22 points, six rebounds and three steals while he shot 9-14 from the floor. Frank Nock tallied 18 points and five assists and Josh Ford added 15 points, five assists and two steals. Christopher Moseley added 13 points and four rebounds. The team shot 48% (34-70) from the field, 53% (8-15) from beyond the three-point line and 54% (17-31) from the foul line in the game. The Roadrunner defense forced 19 Medgar Ever turnovers resulting in 22 points.
 
The Cougars led for most of the first half and took a 46-42 lead into halftime.  In the second half the Roadrunners posted a 14-2 run to take an eight-point lead 56-48 with 17:03 on the clock. The run was started by a layup from Ford before Moseley tied the game with a layup and was fouled. He made his foul shot to take the lead before Bonacum converted on an and-one play. Following a made basket from the Cougars Bonacum and Nock hit back-to-back three-point shots, both assisted by Ford for the eight point lead. With 11 minutes on the clock, the Cougars cut the Ramapo lead to one before Ford scored back-to-back shots, extending the lead to five with 10:43 left in the game. The Roadrunners controlled the last ten minutes of the game while they stretched their lead to 11 with less than seven minutes on the clock. The Cougars went on a mini 6-0 run that was stopped as Nick Stanek sank a three-pointer. The Cougars came within three 84-87 with 1:22 on the clock but back-to-back dunks from Moseley and a pair of foul shots from Ford capped off a six point run to end the game with a nine point win, 93-84.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, December 2nd when they host NJAC rival Kean University at the Bradley Center at 7:30pm.
