Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

MONTCLAIR STATE BLANKS RAMAPO IN NJAC WOMEN'S SOCCER ACTION

Little Falls, NJ:  The Montclair State University women's soccer team posted a 4-0 win over Ramapo College tonight at MSU Soccer Park. The Red Hawks improve to 12-2-2, 5-1-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners stand at 8-5-1, 3-4-1 overall.
 
MSU got on the board with a goal in the 27th minute (26:45) of play when Shawna Grabowski tallied her fourth goal of the year off a pass from Martina Landeka to put the Red Hawks up 1-0. Just over a minute later MSU was awarded a penalty kick as Janae Geonnetti recorded her second goal of the season in the 28th minute (27:59) before she assisted on Kendel Bernardini knocked in MSU's third goal of the half in the 33rd minute (32:21) for a 3-0 lead. The Red Hawks held a 10-1 advantage in shots in the first half.
 
In the second half, Tyler Madison tallied her ninth goal of the season, extending the MSU lead 4-0 in the 72nd minute (71:55). Ramapo could not get on the board in the second half as the Red Hawks tallied their 12th win of the season, including their 10th shutout of the season. MSU outshot Ramapo 15-4 in the game including 9-3 in shots on goal. Erinne Finlayson recorded two saves in the win for the Red Hawks in 79:48 minutes in the net while Amanda Vietri worked the final 10:12 and collected one save. For the Roadrunners, Jessica Cusick tallied five saves.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, October 24th when they host the City College of New York in a non-conference game at 1pm. Ramapo will honor it's senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
