Ewing, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team fell to The College of New Jersey tonight, 77-70. The Roadrunners now stand at 9-4 overall, 3-3 in the NJAC while the Lions improve to 6-6 overall, 2-4 in the conference.

James Long before
Frank Nock put the team ahead, 4-2. TCNJ then went on a 7-0 run to take a 9-4 lead with 14:21 to play in the half. Ramapo then regained the lead with a 12-0 run capped off with a three-pointer from Nock with 10:01 on the clock. Back-to-back three-pointers from TCNJ's Kevin Johnson and a jumper from Eric Murdock put the Lions back in the lead by one, 17-16 with 7:38 to play. Ramapo tied the game, 21-21 with a basket from
Jermaine Peart (4:23) before the Lions regained the lead for the remainder of the first half with a pair of foul shots from Eric Klacik (4:11).
With 15:55 on the clock in the second half the Roadrunners led, 37-34, with a basket from
Christopher Moseley. Nock put the team ahead, 39-36 (14:52) before TCNJ tied the game with a three-pointer from Klacik, 39-39 (14:39). With the scored tied at 41, Skyelar Ettin sunk a shot from beyond the three-point line and put the Lions in the lead, 44-41 (13:06). TCNJ began pulling away with 12:29 to go in the game. Bobby Brackett scored two foul shots before the Lions extended their lead, 60-45, with 9:11 on the clock. They hit three three-pointers in the run. Ramapo shrunk the TCNJ lead to nine, 55-64 with a steal from Bonacum and a layup from Nock (6:27) forcing a Lion timeout. TCNJ then went on a mini 4-0 run, 68-55, (5:15) before Ramapo went on a 6-0 run capped off with a three-pointer from Nock to come within six, 62-68 (4:07). The Roadrunners then hit back-to-back three-pointers from Nock and
James Long to come within three, 68-71 (1:49). Following a Ramapo timeout
Josh Ford came up with a steal and Long converted on a layup to cut the deficit to one, 70-71 (1:14), before TCNJ pulled away in the final minute of the game for a 77-70 home victory.
Three Roadrunners scored in double figures while Nock led the team with 23 points. Moseley tallied 14 points and nine rebounds while Bonacum scored ten points and grabbed eight rebounds. Ramapo shot 40% (27-66) from the field, 41% (5-12) from beyond the three-point line and 61% (11-18) from the foul line. The Roadrunners forced 16 Lion turnovers in the game.
TCNJ was led by Brackett who tallied a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds and two blocks. Jayson Johnson added 17 points and three assists. The Lions shot 49% (26-53) from the field, 36% (8-22) from the three-point line and 81% (17-21) from the foul line.
The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, January 12th when they travel to NJAC rival Richard Stockton College for a 6pm game.
