Mahwah, NJ: #10/11 Montclair State University women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College, 72-39, today at the Bradley Center. The Red Hawks improve to 19-1 overall, 12-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-16 overall, 0-13 in the conference.

Montclair State scored the first basket of the game and never looked back as they started to pull away in the with 5:11 on the clock to earn their 12th New Jersey Athletic Conference win of the season.

The Red Hawks were led by Sage Bennett who led all scorers with 13 points while she grabbed six rebounds. Katie Sire and Janitza Aquino each added 11 points and Melissa Tobie collected a double-double, ten points and 11 rebounds. MSU shot 42% (28-66) from the field, 18% (5-27) from beyond the three-point line and 85% (11-13) from the foul line. The Red Hawks caused 27 Roadrunner turnovers, which led to 23 points for MSU. The team also dominated in the paint, scoring 32 points.

For the Roadrunners,
Jina Crawford led the team with 12 points while she pulled down six rebounds.
Alyson Oostdyk and
Bintou Berete each added six points of their own. Ramapo shot 25% (13-51) from the field and 87% (13-15) from the foul line. The Roadrunners forced 17 MSU turnovers, resulting in 15 points.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, February 4th when they travel to rival New Jersey City University for a conference game at 6:00pm.
