Mahwah, NJ: The Profs of Rowan University defeated the Ramapo College men's swim team this afternoon, 163-99 today in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up. With the victory the Profs improve to 9-1 overall, 3-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 6-2 overall, 1-2 in the conference.
Chaz Cella posted the first 1st place ribbon of the day for the Roadrunners in the 1,000-yard freestyle race clocking in at 10:20.32 for nine points, while Drew Ramos took 1st place in the 100-yard backstroke touching the poolside in 54.10 seconds. Chaz took 2nd place in the 500-yard freestyle finishing the race in 5:06.12.
Jose Alferez placed 1st in the 200-yard backstroke. He clocked in at 2:02.03 for nine points.
Philip Sokoloff placed 3rd in the 100-yard backstroke earning three points for the Roadrunners. He finished the race in 57.16 seconds, while
RJ Carillo placed 3rd in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:02.52. Daniel Drozdewicz placed 2nd overall in the 200-yard butterfly touching the poolside in 2:06.25. Carillo also placed 2nd in the 200-yard breaststroke clocking in at 2:19.17 for four points.
Charlie May and Ramos went 2-3 in the 50-yard freestyle sprint to earn seven points in 23.02 and 23.06 seconds respectively.
Evan Graziano and Drozdewicz went 2-3 in the 100-yard butterfly collecting an additional seven points for the Roadrunners. Graziano clocked in at 54.83 seconds while Drozdewicz touched the poolside in 55.35 seconds.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, February 3rd when they travel o NJAC rival William Paterson for a 6pm match-up.
