Purchase, NY: The Ramapo College women's soccer team fell to Manhattanville College tonight on the road, 2-1. The Roadrunners now stand at 0-2-1 overall.
Christine DeMarco led Manhattanville (1-2) to their first win of the 2014 season, scoring both goals in the game. In the first half she took a pass from Dani Sullivan for her first goal of the season (31:46) to take a,1-0, lead heading into half time. Ramapo held a 5-3 advantage in shots in the first half along with a 3-1 margin in corner kicks.
Junior
Nicole Ninomiya would tie the game up in the 85th minute of the game, 1-1. Rookies
Amber Hermanns and
Nani Vizcaino each collected an assist for the Roadrunners.
DeMarco would hit the back of the net once again for Manhattanville to put them in the lead for good with a goal in the 88th minute of the game. Melissa Barcia earned the assist. The Roadrunners could not tie the game up in the final two minutes of play as Manhattanville earned the 2-1 victory.
Ramapo held a 13-7 advantage in shots in the game along with a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. Rookie
Taylor Marcialis recorded three saves for Ramapo. Dolores Diemicke posted six saves in the net for Manhattanville, including four in the second half.
The Roadrunners return to action at home on September 11th against Medgar Evers in a non-conference game at 4pm.
