Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated NJAC rival Montclair State University, 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-17). The Roadrunners improve to 16-6 overall, 3-0 in the NJAC while the Red Hawks fall to 14-6 overall, 1-2 in the conference.
Ramapo posted 12 blocks in the match including three solo blocks while the Roadrunners hit .225 as a team. Rookie
Larysa Iwaskiw led the team with 18 kills while she tallied 16 digs. Junior
Katelyn Ward posted ten kills and a team high eight total blocks, two solo. Sophomore
Emily Guzman tallied seven kills, one ace and three blocks while junior
Cathryn Smart posted seven kills, one ace and one block. Junior captain
Emily Harris led the team with 29 digs while she posted five assists. Junior captain
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 34 assists while junior
Nicole Herrmann added four assists and four digs.
Courtney Matlock posted a team high 16 kills for the Red Hawks while Allyssa Angel and Rebecca Matasker each tallied six kills a piece. Melissa Terpstra and Hayley Merrill each posted five kills for the Red Hawks. Angela Campo dished out a team high 36 assists while Lily Scanzillo added five of her own. Three Red Hawks tallied double digit digs in the match, Terpstra (19), Campo (15) and Scanzillo (13).
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday when they host the City College of New York at 7pm at the Bradley Center.
