Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team fell to DeSales University today at the Athletic Center, 1-0. The Roadrunners now stand at 1-7 overall while the Bulldogs improve to 4-2 overall.
While the first half remained scoreless, the Bulldogs held a 13-4 advantage in shots. Roadrunner goalie
Emily Wisneski had 11 saves in the half.
Just over five minutes into the second half, the Bulldogs Tess Luzi put at goal in to the back of the net off a pass from Meryah Harding. Harding collected a rebound from a prior shot that was saved before dishing it back to Luzi for the game winning goal. The Roadrunners could not tie the game in the half, giving the Bulldogs the shutout win.
The Bulldogs held a 9-3 advantage over the Roadrunners in shots in the second half. Wisneski tallied six more saves for the Roadrunners in the second half. Becky Rasmuson tallied six saves in the game for the DeSales. Ramapo held a 17-15 margin in penalty corners in the game.
The Roadrunners return to action Saturday, September 20th when the travel to Vassar College for a 1pm match-up.
