Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw in a non-conference match-up against Eastern Connecticut today at the Athletic Center.
The Roadrunners collect their first tie of the season and now stand at 3-2-1 overall, while the Warriors are now 1-1-2 overall.
The Warriors took the lead with a goal from Tyler Jones with just over ten minutes left to play in the first half, where the two teams each collected five shots.
Rookie
Modou Sowe would answer back for the Roadrunners at 24:55 into the second half to tie up the game, 1-1. His goal was his third of the season.
Both teams would come up short in the remainder of regulation, forcing overtime play. After an additional 20 minutes of play, the score remained knotted at 1-1.
In 110 minutes of play Warrior goalie, Greg Walton, and Roadrunner goalie,
Matthew Hernandez posted six saves each. Ramapo held a slight advantage in shots on the day, 15-13, while Eastern Connecticut recorded seven corner kicks to Ramapo's three.
The Roadrunners return to action Monday, September 15 when they host Lehman College at 3:30pm.
