ROWAN TOO MUCH FOR RAMAPO

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Glassboro, NJ:  The Ramapo College softball team dropped a tough NJAC doubleheader match-up today to the Profs of Rowan University, 0-11, and 0-2.  With the two losses, Ramapo falls to 11-14 overall, 3-7 in the conference.  Rowan improves to 21-8 overall and 7-3 in the conference.
 
Rowan's Krysti Maronski held the Roadrunners to no hits in the first of the doubleheader conference match-up, as she pitched the complete game, striking out nine and walking just one, to improve to 12-3 overall on the year.  Ramapo's Harley Masiello gets the loss.  She pitched the complete game, letting up 12 hits and 11 runs, falling to 5-8.
 
Rowan crossed six runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, and added five more in the bottom of the 3rd, shutting out Ramapo for the 11-0 NJAC win.
 
Maronski hit a perfect 3-3 for the Profs and scored two runs, while Jennifer Arcella hit 2-3 with two runs scored and four RBI.  Shilah Snead hit 2-1 with two runs and two RBI.  Shannon Costello, Alysa Romero, Meagan Lee, and Amanda Toomer (2) each scored runs of their own. 
 
In game two, two hits from Ramapo's Jaclyn Lima and Mikayla Melendez, weren't enough as the Profs recorded eight hits and crossed two runs in the bottom of the 1st, to shut out Ramapo for the second time in the day, 2-0.  Maronski opened the game and pitched just two innings, striking out two and walking none.  Beth Ann Hyland gets the win pitching the final five innings.  She struck out four and walked none, while letting up one hit.  Nicole Schneider pitched the complete game for Ramapo and gets the loss to fall to 5-4 on the year.  She let up all eight hits with two runs.
 
Romero went 2-3 with one run, while Ashley DeYoung drove in a run and Costello scored one.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, April 15th, when they host Rutgers Newark at 3:00pm at the Athletic Center in Mahwah.
