Glassboro, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team fell to NJAC rival Rowan, 164-89. The Roadrunners now stand at 7-2 overall, 2-2 in the NJAC while the Profs improve to 10-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
Philip Sokoloff took home a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke when he touched the wall in 53.79. Rowan's Larry Dow placed first in 53.53 in the same event.
Peter Kellner clocked in at 1:49.64 in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in third place.
RJ Carillo and
Kevin Landmesser came in second and third place respectively in the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:02.38 and 1:05.61.
Philip Mathys took home two second place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle events, as he recorded times of 22.00 and 49.02.
Kevin Fries was third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.78 and
Kevin Guo took home a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, 50.21. Sokoloff,
Anthony Stanton and
James Campbell all placed in the 200-yard backstroke. Sokoloff took home a second place finish (1:59.85) behind Rowan's Kyle Devore (1:59.75). Stanton placed third overall (2:05.76), while Campbell finished in fourth place with a time of 2:14.31.
Mathys, Kellner,
Maciej Maj and Sokoloff made up the 400-yard freestyle relay team, who placed second overall when they clocked in with a time of 3:17.45.
The Roadrunners will return to action when they travel to the
MET Conference Championships. The meet will take place on the campus of Rutgers University from February 14th through the 16th.
