RAMAPO DOWNS KEAN IN NJAC MEN'S BASKETBALL ACTION

Union, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated NJAC rival Kean University, 72-68, tonight on the road. The Roadrunners improve to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC while the Cougars drop to 0-5 overall, 0-3 in the conference.
 
Ramapo jumped out to an eight-point lead, 10-2, in the first three minutes of the game before they extended it to 14, 29-15, on a made basket by Nick Stanek with 10:25 on the clock. Frank Nock put them ahead, 39-24, with 3:48 to go in the first half before Kean went on a 9-1 run to close the first half only down seven, 33-40. Nock led the team with 12 points while Christopher Moseley and Ve'Shawn Polite added eight points apiece.  Nock and Moseley led the team with five rebounds each. The team shot 57% from the field, 66% from the foul line and 28% from beyond the three-point line.
 
In the first half, Kean was led by Mike Diamond with ten points. The team shot 38% from the field, 71% from the foul line and 23% from beyond the three-point line.
 
In the second half, Ramapo opened up a 15-point lead on a layup from Jermaine Peart with 12:05 on the clock, 59-44. With just under nine minutes on the clock, Ramapo held a ten point lead before went on a 13-2 run, capped off by a three-pointer from Lincoln Holley to take a one point lead, 66-65, with 3:43 left in the second half. Polite then sank a two foul shots to regain the lead, 67-66, before Moseley did the same to take a three-point lead, 69-66 with 2:59 on the clock. James Long made a foul shot for Ramapo, 70-66, before Kean made their final basket of the game to come within two, 68-70 with 1:03 left on the clock. Moseley scored the final two points for Ramapo to cap off a 72-68 road win over Kean.
 
Polite scored a team high 19 points for the Roadrunners while Moseley added eight rebounds and 16 points and Nock posted a double-double, 14 points and ten rebounds. The team shot 47% (22-46) from the field, 82% (24-29) from the foul line and 28% (4-14) from beyond the three-point line. Ramapo out rebounded the Cougars, 39-25.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, December 6th when they travel to NJAC rival Montclair State University for a game at 1pm.
