FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO KEAN

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team fell to NJAC rival Kean University today at the Athletic Center, 4-1. The Cougars improve to 9-4 overall, 1-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-11 overall, 0-3 in the conference.

Kean scored three goals in the first half to take an early lead. The Cougars needed just one minute and 23 seconds to score as Chelsea Mann recorded her seventh goal of the season off a pass from Marissa Robinson. In the 18th minute Robinson tallied her second assist of the game as Krista LaMaina scored. K. LaMaina also scored the third goal for the Cougars of a pass from Shauna LaMaina in the 34th minute.

The Roadrunners got on the board in the 45th minute in the second half with a goal from Lauren Santoro, her first of the year, off a pass from Dana Shea.

Kean extended their lead to 4-1 as Robinson tallied her team leading 12th goal of the season in the 57th minute. Neither team would score the remainder of the game as Kean came away with the conference victory.

Emily Wisneski posted 13 saves in the net for the Roadrunners while Lauren Grosso made a defensive stop in the first half.

Katie DiCarlo did not have to make a save in the game for Kean as the team out shot Ramapo, 28-4. The Cougars also recorded a 13-5 advantage in penalty corners for the game. 

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, October 11th at 3:30pm when they host Neumann University in a non-conference game.
