ROADRUNNERS FALL TO #19 TCNJ, 0-2

Mahwah, NJ:  The Lady Roadrunner soccer team dropped a tough, 2-0 decision today to the #19 Lions of the College of New Jersey.  With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 4-8-2 overall, 2-5 in the conference.  The Lions get their 4th straight win and improves to 12-2 overall, and 6-1 in the conference.

TCNJ got on the scoreboard just under eight minutes in, when a deflected shot off the Ramapo goalkeeper, from Taylor Lusardi, landed at the foot of the Lion's leading scorer, Christine Levering.  Levering ripped the ball to the back of the net giving the Lions the 1-0 advantage.

The score held until the halftime buzzer where TCNJ led in shots, 16-2, while Kendra Griffith was tested just two times. Ramapo's Jessica Cusick made ten saves in the first 45 minutes of play.

Korrie Harkins gave the Lions a 2-0 lead at 55:57 when a free kick from Jordan Downs about 40 yards out, deflected off the foot of Elizabeth Thoresen to Harkins. Harkins ripped a shot to the far post taking the two-goal lead.  Griffith made two addtional saves in the second half of play, holding the Roadrunners for the shut out.  Cusick collected six saves as the Lions once again out shot Ramapo, 12-3.

Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, October 22nd when they host NJAC rival Montclair State at 3pm.
