Newark, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team improved to 18-8 overall, 4-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference as they defeated the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark, 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25, 23, 25-23). With the loss Rutgers Newark falls to 12-8 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
Rookie
Larysa Iwaskiw and
Emily Guzman, led the Roadrunners collecting 11 kills each, as the team combined for 53 kills on 205 attempts with 39 errors hitting .068 in the win.
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team leading 45 assists, while
Sarah Mulligan picked up 27 digs on defense. Iwaskiw added 16 digs in the win.
Rutgers Newark was led by Sydney Tuman who posted 12 kills and Sharee Gordon who added 11. The team hit a combined .096 with 43 kills on 177 attempts with 26 errors. Karolina Kopacz dished out 30 assists and Sue Riley led the way with 31 digs.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, October 21st when they travel to Rutgers Camden for a 7pm NJAC match-up.
