Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team fell to NJAC conference rival William Paterson University tonight, 5-1. The Pioneers improve to 5-8 overall, 1-3 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-13 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
WPU got on the board in the first half with a goal from Elizabeth Kerr, her fourth of the season. She was assisted by Meghin Stanton in the 13th minute of action.
Ramapo would tie the game when rookie
Gianna Mouskourie knocked in her team leading ninth goal of the season in the 15th minute, 1-1. The Pioneers would scored the eventual game winning goal off a penalty corner. WPU was awarded the corner after time expired in the first half as Felicia Wetzel scored her second goal of the season off an assist from McKenna Reynolds, 2-1.
The Pioneers scored three insurance goals in the second half taking a 5-1 lead. Angelica Giammetta scored back-to-back goals before Courtney Allen added the final goal for WPU.
Rookie
Emily Wisneski recorded seven saves for the Roadrunners while Meg Davies collected two saves for the Pioneers.
Ramapo returns to action on October 22nd when they travel to NJAC rival Rowan University for a game at 7pm.
