Annandale-on-the-Hudson, NY: The Ramapo College women's tennis team posted a 9-0 sweep over the Raptors of Bard College tonight to improve to 11-1 overall on the year, extending their win streak to 11 straight.
Vasundhra Gandotpa and
Katrina Biss posted an 8-0 sweep over the Bard pair, to open the match with one point for Ramapo at first doubles.
Micala Demchak and
Sabrina Koropchak added another Ramapo point at second doubles, posting an 8-1 win, before
Elena Maria Ilieva and
Ivy Schuckman went 8-1 at the final doubles spot, giving Ramapo a 3-0 lead heading into singles action.
Gandotra swept first singles, 6-0, 6-0, defeating Harriette Slagle, before Biss posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at the second singles spot to put Ramapo ahead, 5-0. Koropchak and Demchak went 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1 at third and fourth singles respectively, before the match was swept up by Ilieva and Schuckman who went 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-3 in the final two singles match-ups.
Ramapo takes on The College of Staten Island, tomorrow, October 15th at 4pm at the Athletic Center in Mahwah.
