LADY ROADRUNNERS FALL IN NON-CONFERENCE GAME

Box Score Morristown, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team fell to the College of Saint Elizabeth tonight, 63-61, on the road. The Roadrunners fall to 8-8 overall while the Eagles improve to 11-4.

Micaela Moore posted 16 points to lead Ramapo while Anna Fucci added 14 points of her own. Moore collected seven rebounds and six steals while Fucci sunk four three-pointers in the game. Jackie Jerkovich tallied nine points while Alayna Donadio tallied five of her own. Ramapo shot 41% (23-56) from the field and 81% (9-11) from the free throw line.

Each team hit a three-pointer to open the game before the Eagles went up by five, 14-9 (12:33). St. Elizabeth took their largest lead of the game with 8:43 left in the half, 20-11 before Ramapo went on an 11-0 run. Fucci started the run with back to back threes and she later put the Roadrunners up one, 24-23 with a jumper with 3:43 left in the half. Down the stretch in the first half Ramapo outscored the Eagles 6-3, to take a four point lead into the locker room, 30-26.

In the second half the game was tied three times in the first five minutes of play before the Ramapo took a one point lead, 40-39 (12:58), on a jumper from Kellie Lane. The Eagles tied the game on a three pointer before taking a five point lead, 51-46 (9:42). They Roadrunners were down eight, 53-61, with just over five minutes left in the game before they went on an 8-0 run to tie the game at 61 as Moore completed a and one play with one minute to play. Saint Elizabeth was able to score a jumper as time expired for the last second win, 63-61.

Four out of five starters for the Eagles scored in double figures. Kelly O'Dell led the team with 15 points and nine rebounds while Ashley Pledger tallied 13 points, including the game winning shot. Danesha Triplett and Amerisse Rogers each posted 11 and ten points respectively. The team out rebounded the Roadrunners, 40-21. The Eagles shot 43% (24-55) from the field and 70% (7-10) from the foul line.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, January 22nd when they travel to NJAC rival New Jersey City University for a 6pm game.
